USA to Canada Immigration
American citizens who are looking to becoming a permanent resident of Canada have different ways to visit, study, work or gain permanent residence in Canada. Once you obtain permanent residence in Canada, you may become a Canadian citizen and receive a Canadian passport after 3 years. You do not need to forego your US citizenship, as both Canada and US allow for dual citizenship. It’s important to find out what works for your situation and then begin the application process.
UK to Canada Immigration
It's important to understand the options available for British citizens who are looking to become permanent residents in Canada. If you are a British resident, you do not need a visa to visit Canada for a short period of time. You can stay for up to 6 months at a time without having to apply for a visa. However, you still need to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to board your flight to Canada. Keep in mind that you don’t need an eTA if you are entering Canada by land or sea (such as driving to Canada or taking a train, bus or cruise ship).
