Express Entry Canada

According to an annual survey that was done by Manpower, there are a number of occupations for which employers find their vacancies hard to fill. These include:

  • Sales reps
  • Nurses
  • Technicians
  • Restaurant/hotel workers
  • Managers/executives
  • Doctors and other clinical practitioners
  • Engineers
  • Customer service reps
  • Skilled tradespeople
  • Drivers

The survey was done on 2,000 firms in Canada and it showed that 41% of employers had difficulties filling the above positions in their companies. Although many experts argue that these occupations are not in shortage in Canada, there seems to be an issue filling these positions in many firms. Perhaps it’s because many children are no longer excited about becoming professionals in certain fields.

Skilled Trades Are Hard To Fill

Manpower’s survey revealed that skilled trades in Canada are among the hardest blue-collar jobs to fill. This includes occupations such as carpenters, plumbers, electricians, masons and welders. Many of these jobs pay very well even though they require few skills.
